Supply Chain Supervisor (Lead Commodities)

We're looking to hire a Supply Chain Supervisor (Lead Commodities) to join our Lead Commodities team to assist senior management in the organization and implementation of our ongoing projects. The role is responsible for performing tasks associated with the complex/large purchase and delivery of resources and services as well as for managing relationships with existing and new suppliers. The role reports directly to the Supply Chain Senior Manager and is based in Athens, Greece.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role includes:

  • Implements the purchasing strategy of Recycling Business Unit as well as of Battery Production Plant
  • Negotiates with key suppliers
  • Conducts market research, and identifies opportunities, maintains, and expands relationships in order to develop existing supplier base
  • Analyzes suppliers’ proposals, negotiates contracts in order to achieve the best deals with the suppliers. Contracts Preparation
  • Develops strong relationships with existing and new strategic business partners/suppliers
  • Participates in annual/monthly material planning, factory budget and production output
  • Supports and ensure team performance
  • Ensures that lead material forecasts are aligned with production planning and immediately responds to unforeseen supply failures, liaising with manufacturing and suppliers to avoid supply chain interruptions

Job requirements

  • BSc in Business, Engineering or equivalent; MSc in Business Administration, Finance, or relevant field
  • Minimum 5-7 years in Procurement departments within the manufacturing industry
  • Excellent command of the English language (written & oral)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Multi-Tasking, willing to take initiatives and take quick decisions
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications with an emphasis on Excel; strong working knowledge of ERP/SAP
  • Attention to detail, highly organized and problem resolving mentality
