We are currently looking for an ingenious Senior ESS Systems Engineer with Electrical engineering background for our ESS development team. As a you will have the exciting opportunity of working in a group that develops innovative products for Utility Scale ESS and C&I ESS. The role revolves around the electrical design, architecture of the system, definition and sizing of peripherals of battery system, design and requirement specification of power protection units and module to provide a reliable and safe system. Moreover, the role also requires developing test methods, designing and executing experiments in collaboration with the testing team, and prototyping new innovations to improve existing or delivering new lithium battery products that meet customer requirements and company high standards. This role will provide the right candidate with excellent growth potential.


Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conceptual design of ESS systems
  • Requirements specifications (hardware, software, cell, electrothermal) for battery peripherals and battery management systems
  • System verification and validation according to safety and ESS standards
  • Test procedure creation and test report evaluation

Job requirements

  • 4+ years, minimum, of industrial experience in a Research & Development environment, ideally on Li-ion battery systems development
  • MSc Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or relevant science will be considered a plus
  • Knowledge of energy storage technologies and systems engineering approach
  • Experience with standards interpretation and technical specifications preparation
  • Knowledge of Li-ion cells, module design and BMS architectures.
  • Experience with integration of sub-systems and inverter with battery systems
  • Experience with communication protocols (embedded systems, CANbus, Ethernet, Modbus)
  • Knowledge and familiarity of certification standards, IEC 62619, UL1973, UL9540A, UN38.3
  • Fluency in English
