SUNLIGHT RECYCLING S.A. was established in 2014 in Komotini. It is one of Europe's most advanced lead-acid battery recycling units. The expansion underway will also bring it to the top of single unit recycling plants, as one of the biggest producers of secondary lead in Europe.

Keen to further empower our team by onboarding more talent, we're looking to hire an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our Technical Department. The role is responsible for upholding the safety regulations of our company and perform all the maintenance procedures for the complete manufacturing operation. The position is based in Komotini Recycling Plant, Greece.


Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leads all maintenance processes and operations
  • Supervises Mechanical Maintenance SPV & Electrical Maintenance SPV
  • Tracks expenses and oversee the budget for maintenance
  • Maintains all equipment to ensure it is at base conditions
  • Leads continuous improvement projects
  • Organizes and implements investment projects and installations
  • Conducts regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems
  • Plans and manages all repair and installation activities
  • Assigns repair schedules and evaluates repair cost estimates
  • Documents and prepares daily progress reports and maintenance logs
  • Oversees equipment stock and places orders for new supplies when necessary
  • Supervises the maintenance procedures to the SAP PM environment
  • Monitors the appropriate equipment operation, analyzes downtime KPI’s and suggest improvements.
  • Makes suggestions and cooperate with other depts to the Cost Reduction initiatives for continues improvement.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a Polytechnical School or University
  • At least 10 of working experience in maintenance and at least +3 in Managerial position in a manufacturing environment - MSc or MBA is a must
  • Strong knowledge of facilities, machines and equipment
  • Good knowledge of Autocad platform
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of ERP (preferably SAP) is an asset
  • Fluency in English & Greek
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Strong people management skills, team building, self-motivation and teamwork mentality
  • Demonstration of analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
