Due to continuous growth and expansion, Sunlight Group offers a great opportunity for career development and is seeking to attract a Industrial Project Management Director to join our Global Manufacturing team at Sunlight.

The Industrial Project Management Director will play a pivotal role in managing successfully multiple Industrial projects running in parallel in several countries and at different levels of complexity such as, building or expanding facilities in new or existing sites, new Product Introductions and Manufacturing Technologies or upgrades to production lines etc.

The Industrial Project Management Director will have as a high priority to developing the organization, at the same time as managing existing projects.

Some of the main focus areas of this role will be to:

  • Design the right global organization to support the vision and strategy of the company
  • Hire and develop a small but capable global team of PM professionals
  • Create PM standards, systems and processes and train all PM professionals
  • Plan, organize and lead major and medium industrial projects globally

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supports the Executive Team in shaping manufacturing strategy to suit company vision and objectives.
  • Develops comprehensive project plans, sets objectives, defines scope, and devises strategies to achieve project goals. Identifies the cross-functional project teams, estimates resources, and negotiates the release of those resources with the relevant departments. Coordinates across functions to achieve alignment in objectives and KPIs.
  • Obtains formal approval for the project. Uses a standardized Project Brief including all relevant information (scope, objectives and how they support company objectives, budget, business case, trade-offs and risks, timing, team membership, etc.) and documents this for future reference.
  • Develops and installs a standardized gate-based system for project reviews and tracking deliverables achievement to targets. Prepares and leads Milestone Reviews.
  • Manages timelines, ensuring tasks are completed within schedule. Allocates and optimizes resources as needed to prevent bottlenecks and ensure availability.
  • Devises standards and KPIs that define and track deliverable “quality of event”. Ensures that project deliverables meet the set objectives.
  • Develops mitigation plans, proactively addressing challenges to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Creates and manages budgets for each project, monitors expenses, and make informed decisions, or escalates, to ensure projects stay on budget.
  • Develops standardized methods to track and report project status. Provides regular updates on progress, challenges, and plans, documenting each phase for future reference and Lessons Learned.
  • Follows company rules and procedures and ensures that every project is conforms to National Regulations and Corporate Requirements.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management within the industrial sector, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred. Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Strong technical background and understanding of industrial processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate project teams towards achieving project objectives.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations applicable to industrial projects.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
