Keen to further empower our team by onboarding more talent, we are currently looking for an experienced Facilities Senior Manager (CSA) to join our LiTH.OS team and lead the design and construction of LiTH.OS Gigafactory facilities. This is a critical role for our operations team, that will be leading the largest Capex Project in the history of Sunlight with a total budget of more than 1,5 billion Euros. In this role the Facilities Senior Manager will oversee the design, construction and commissioning of LiTH.OS Gigafactory facility, ensuring that it meets the company's requirements and specifications, and is completed on time and within budget. By the end of this mega-project, a 150.000 m² cell production facility will be fully operational and will be providing the Li-ion cells needed for Sunlight Group to serve its customers. The position is based in Athens, Greece.


Key activities and responsibilities of this role:

  • Define facility specifications.
  • Lead and coordinate the design and construction of the gigafactory facilities.
  • Build and supervise a team of project engineers and technicians to ensure that they are performing their duties effectively.
  • Define project timelines and time constraints.
  • Deliver project on time
  • Analyze project costs and prepare budgets.
  • Budget ownership. Deliver project on budget.
  • Lead technical aspects of vendor selection procedure.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors and negotiate contracts for construction services and equipment procurement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that the facility is constructed to meet the company's requirements and specifications.
  • Supervise contractors during construction phase.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the operation and maintenance of the facility.
  • Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Define resources needed and optimize their allocation.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a University
  • 5+ years of previous experience in project management and engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment leading large scale facility projects.
  • 10+ years of total experience executing industrial projects.
  • Experience with managing large-scale projects, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in civil engineering.
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements related to construction and facility operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with BIM, AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency principles, and experience in implementing sustainable practices in facility operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent organizational and leaderships skills
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
  • Fluency in English (verbal & written) is a must
  • EU permit and fulfilled military obligations – where applicable
