We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Application Engineer for our R&D center in Xanthi, Greece. The role aims in sustaining and supporting existing and/or delivering new lithium battery solutions that meet customer requirements and Sunlight’s high-quality standards. The incumbent will have to manage internal & external stakeholders and communicate effectively issues and risks in a timely manner. This is a global role in a very demanding manufacturing environment which will open numerous career opportunities to advance further in the battery manufacturing industry, the fastest growing industry in Europe and globally, currently & for the years to come.


Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develops test and validation plans for battery systems functional verification
  • Creates documentation (Testing process, test result analysis, operation flow-chart, manuals)
  • System Qualification and Verification: product safety and manufacturability
  • Development, prototype assembly, implement and test of functional units and prototypes
  • Documentation & dissemination of findings either internally or externally
  • Collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines as well as production and quality depts as required

Job requirements

  • Good knowledge of hardware and software architectures of Li-ion battery systems
  • Good knowledge of measurement & control technology / system level modelling (Matlab/Simulink or similar). Hands-on experience in Power Electronics is an asset
  • Knowledge in digital/analog design and communications (e.g. CAN - BUS, embedded systems)
  • Bachelor's in electrical engineering or relevant science; MSc is a plus
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in Greek
